Nuit agitée

I am very happy to welcome you in my universe.

I’m a self-taught painter since painting caught me up only a few years ago. Still, I just couldn’t imagine now how I could do without painting, for this means of expression allows me to escape and “disconnect” and has eventually become essential to me.

My desire to create, probably inspired by painters such as Klein, De Staêl, Tapies, Soulages,is, first and foremost, a long inner adventure, a slow assimilation. Machado, the poet, used to write “You make your own path as you walk”.

Basically, this considered impulsion, influenced by my trips abroad,  – more especially to South America – finds its source in abstraction, changing a reality and actually making the “reader” as free as the painting itself.

Working on the deepness and thickness of various materials, playing with the density of colours and even sometimes with automatisms and lucky coincidences or occurrences, arouses the aesthetic emotion.

The act of creating is also closely linked to the music of Pat Metheny, Damien Poupart-Taussat or Jesse Cook. The musical harmony impacts the pictorial balance.

Mixing ‘reused” materials, rust leaves, or wood – choosing in turns to use the accumulation of different materials, or, on other occasions, a more uncluttered style – creates a space where everyone can liberate their inner energies and give free scope to their imagination by making something beautiful out of “nothing”.

My main objective is to achieve aesthetic quality in a vivid and sincere painting which would be a kind of testimony of the thickness of life.

Today, you can find my paintings in several private collections in France, Netherlands, South America and in Martinique.

Have a nice visit…
